March 2013 MMMM Puzzle is Ready

The second contest puzzle has been posted.

  • You can solve it here. The meta for this puzzle is a hit from the ’60s that describes what can be found in the completed grid.
  • When you’ve solved the meta, enter your solution to the right.
  • Those who submit correct answers will be put in a random drawing to win a large MMMM coffee mug.
  • The deadline for sending in your answer is Sunday, March 10 at 11pm Eastern Time. The solution will be posted Tuesday, March 12.

There is a “mega-meta” hidden in the contest puzzles.

  • Solvers will be able to guess the mega-meta at any time. Your first guess is free. Subsequent incorrect guesses will each incur a 1-point penalty.
  • If you want to guess at the mega-meta, send in your guess along with your meta solution.
  • I will tell you two things about the mega-meta:
    • The mega-meta is a rock-and-roll hit from the past 40 years.
    • Each puzzle has a clue related to the mega-meta.
